Autumn Check In: Elvi

Oh hiya! It’s been a while ain’t it? Not only has it taken me some time to get my bum into gear and catch up with my blog I generally haven’t been on social media much at all to be quite honest, just popping in here and there when I’ve had a few spare minutes.

I’m not going to go into the ‘I’m so sorry life has been busy’ malarky that I tend to do every so often (it actually has been mega busy but I won’t bore you); however, just to give you an idea of what’s been going on, in the past two months I have left a job, moved house (and am still trying to get new said house in some kind of order) *AND* started a new job which is going well, but the daily struggle of trying to learn everything *and* be the nice new girl in the office is exhausting (I think it’s going alright though) PHEW!

So with all that going on blogging sadly hasn’t been a priority of mine but I wanted to give you a little Autumn check in. So here I am, I’M ALIVE!

With a lot of my life (and my wardrobe) still living in cardboard boxes I really haven’t been wearing anything blog worthy really. So trying to be some kind of ‘plus size fashion blogger’ when your days consist of throwing on anything that’s clean is pretty unachievable. Instead of planning outfits these days I’m more likely to be found planning room decor, WHO AM I?

I promise when I’m a bit more settled and have a bit more order to my life (and a bit more time) I will indeed, start trying to get back on the fashiony bloggery thing (not that I was ‘fashion’ in any way, shape or form before, but you know what I mean!).

Bloody ‘ell, I said this wasn’t going to be a long old ‘oh my god I’m so sorry I haven’t blogged’ blog post but god I don’t half go on!

Today has been the first Sunday in a while where I’ve had some time to enjoy the beautiful Autumn weather instead of losing the will to live in the aisles of Ikea. I spent the afternoon walking along the riverside taking in the beautiful, crisp, sunny but chilly day and then went for a bit of lunch and a game of good old Connect Four (I lost miserably) in one of my favourite cosy pubs.

A casual Sunday meant relaxed, casual clothes and it was a chance to finally wear my Elvi Checked Trousers.

These trousers are such a nice change from jeans for me, I very rarely wear any trousers casually unless they are jeans, so I’m pleased as punch with these. I can smarten them up by adding a nice pair of brogues or loafers or just throw them on with trainers, which is my fave (you know me, sneaker chick till I die).

This year I’ve acquired a few Elvi pieces and having them in my wardrobe is such a joy. Elvi makes real quality, premium plus size pieces that are timeless and so wearable.  I mean, just to show, I picked up this Faux Leather Gilet in the summer and I’m still rockin’ it right through in to Autumn and I’m sure it’ll have many more wears to come.

Both of these items are currently on sale at Elvi so if you fancy them, snap them up now!

My lippy is by Sleek and it’s one of their Matte Me Lip Creams in shade ‘Vino Tinto’. I’ve linked them over on Feel Unique; however this shade is currently out of stock but there are loads of others available.

A little tip with this particular lippy, try and apply it evenly on first application as it dries and sets so quickly trying to build the colour up afterwards is almost impossible without it going all crumbly. Worth grabbing one if you like a really intense, matte lip colour but be warned the formula can be difficult to work with.

Nice to see you again, I hope to see you more frequently once you get settled in your new role and home. I just started following you when you went on a blogger leave of absence. I enjoy your writing and look forward to future posts.
    Cheers!
