Beauty Buys: NYX Cosmetics

A beauty post! Finally!

I’m such a beauty junkie, it’s ridiculous and I know I say this every time but I don’t blog about beauty anywhere near as much as I want to so it’s so nice to sit down with a cuppa tea and show you some new beauty bits I bought a few days ago.

I was pottering around doing a bit of shopping over the weekend looking for a new pair of sandals (I never did end up getting any) but I did somehow end up in the makeup aisle of Boots completely dazzled by their UH-MAZING NYX Cosmetics stand. Funnily enough that same morning Diana had posted a photo on Instagram that featured some NYX goodies and I had commented about how I really wanted to try their lippies and she recommended that I give their matte ones a go, so with that in mind, to the section of matte lippies I migrated…

Liquid Suede Lipstick

After a lot of swatching on the back of my hand (thank god that particular store puts wet wipes out) I ended up purchasing a Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade ‘Cannes’ and a product I have heard rave reviews about, the  Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick. I actually wanted to buy a few of the latter but I ended up going home with just ‘Pink Lust’ as most of the other shades had completely sold out.

I’ve been making an effort to buy more ‘everyday’ lip shades just recently so the Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘Cannes’ seemed like it would be a perfect colour for days when I want a more natural makeup look.

Matte Lipstick Review Soft Matte Lip Cream

The formula has a whipped cream like texture to it and it glides on really easily without going claggy or drying out quickly. Once applied the Lip Cream dries and sets quickly and leaves you with a lovely, light matte finish that doesn’t feel heavy. Whilst this matte lippy is nice for daily wear it does need reapplying quite regularly. After a few sips of a drink or after eating you will definitely find it becomes a little flaky. Still, for the price I wasn’t disappointed with it. The colour, the texture, the ease of application definitely were a win for me and I’ll certainly be adding a few more shades of this particular lippy to my makeup bag.

Next up, the Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in ‘Pink Lust’ is TO DIE FOR! If you like your lips bold, vibrant and bright then this is the shade for you.

I’m no stranger to a hot pink shade as I have quite a few from various different brands but this one really is a game changer for me. The lasting performance of the formula along with the actual shade are what makes me love it so much.

Liquid Suede Lipstick

Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick I didn’t think anything would shake my love for my Sleek Makeup True Colour Lipstick in ‘Amped’ but it’s happened. Just like the Soft Matte Lip Cream the formula of this glides on easily to make sure you can get an even layer of coverage on your lip, at first it can seem a little translucent like it’s going to set with it being a bit patchy or see through but after a few minutes this baby sets and dries with the most perfect finish that lasts for ages! I wore mine for the whole day on Sunday without any need for reapplication. My only potential criticism of this product is that if you do layer it up a little then it can feel slightly sticky, will take longer to dry and set and will have quite a bit of transference but I personally don’t think you need to really go hell for leather on the layers but I suppose it’s all down to personal preference.

There were some really fabulous shades on offer in the Liquid Suede Lippy, some a bit more out there than what I would wear but it’s definitely a product that will work well in really in your face shades. Again I will definitely be picking up a few different shades of this one (when I spot them back in stock!).

Have you tried either of these products or any other NYX Cosmetics pieces that you think I should try? Do you want me to post more of my beauty buys and loves? Lemme know! I love getting your comments!

Also I’ve gotten really into my Snapchattering just recently so if you’re on it too, gimme an add ‘naomi0300’ <3
