Boho Vibes and Wide Calf Boots : Plus Size Outfit

I love trends, I say this everytime on here but you can either go the full shebang with a trend and really run with it or you can pick and mix the way you want to incorporate them into your look.
I’m more of a dabbler with trends, for me little touches and influences suit me best when it comes to getting on board with what’s the in thing for each season. Sometimes I worry that if I go all out then I look like someone on their way to a fancy dress parade so it’s definitely more about the subtle details.

With Spring on it’s way there are a few key trends looming. I touched on khaki creeping upon us a few posts ago and the next one that I’m really interested in that’s started to trickle through is the 70’s boho-esque influence. A lot of these trends come around again and again so they’re hardly new but each time they bring something a little different.

As I had been feeling under the weather a few days ago I treated myself to a cute, chiffon, floral number with fabulously, floaty sleeves which I decided to pull together a little 70’s influenced look with. Cue a Farrah Fawcett hair flick, some super cute spring jewellery, a bit of fringing and some soft tones (these taupe wide calf boots from Jilsen are just perfect for this look, especially for layering whilst the weather is still a bit cooler) and I felt all boho trend to go!

I bet you’re thinking, who on earth are Jilsen? Well my loves Jilsen are a Dutch family run company who specialise in making wide calf boots, actual proper wide calf boots! When they offered to send me a pair to review I just couldn’t take my eyes off of these ‘Amber’ ones in ‘Taupe’ and when they arrived I wasn’t disappointed.
They are made in the softest, almost buttery feeling leather, combined with a super comfortable block heel and simple details these boots are just beautiful. My only criticism is something that is probably bespoke to me but although I do have very large calves I have much slimmer ankles in comparison to the rest of my leg. The ankle part of the boot is a little loose but it’s no big problem as they are still extremely comfortable. I am wearing a UK size 6.5 with a 52cm calf width and they fit me just perfectly. If you do happen to order from Jilsen be sure to measure your calf to order the best possible fit. Oh and delivery to the UK is totally FREE!!!
I also got sent some really sweet jewellery from the guys over at JewelleryBox.co.uk. The pieces are from their ‘Abella’ range which is new for Spring/Summer 2015. The little bumblebee details are adorable, not only are they a bit of a nod to the Queen Bey herself (Beyonce) to me they give the jewellery a really on trend 70’s style hazy Spring feel. If you fancy treating yourself to a little something from JewelleryBox.co.uk I have a special discount code for you too!
Enter code ‘GRIFFITHSN10%’ at the Jewellery Box checkout for 10% off your order, valid until 6th April 2015. Easter pressie? Treat yourself?

A very pretty outfit – love it! I have the same problem with boots – thin ankles! I'd love to own a pair of knee high boots, but they go baggy at the ankles and just look weird on me!

You look gorgeous! I love those boots, I ditched my tan boots (which I love) because they were making my feet hurt, now I'm tottering around in a pair of very scruffy cheap sainsburys trainers! SEeing this post makes me reaise how much I miss them! Also love the bee, very Alex Monroe esque!
