Before I go into this outfit post, for those of you who entered my F&F Clothing giveaway, the winner has been announced in the video I’ve uploaded to the post, go see it, HERE!
So, anyway, I finally managed to get my hands on a dress I’d had my eye on for a while over at Simply Be. I’m not big on this whole 90’s revival thing, it reminds me that I’m old and a whole decade of fashion has come back around and I can say that thing my mom always used to say to me when I was a kid ‘I had one of them when I was your age!’. I know, soul destroying, especially when I was in New Look this afternoon and saw jelly shoes had made a come back, JELLY SHOES!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!! I had a pair of those when I was about 7! Good grief, anyway, I digress. So the majority of this whole 90’s revival I will quite happily leave alone but when I saw this crackin’ denim dress it just screamed perfect at me.
Every time I went to order it I’d get a ‘delivery will not be until a million years in the future’ (total exaggeration but you know what I mean). So when I by chance had a nosy at it again at work yesterday and saw it was in stock and ready to be delivered there was no question, in my basket it went.
A super pretty, denim babydoll dress with pockets, I mean let me just count the ways I can wear this little gem and here is the first one of no doubt many…
The dress is proper structured denim and has no stretch at all, so if you’re looking to grab this, you may want to consider this aspect. I am wearing the UK 32 and it fits well around my bust and waist with a teeny bit of room and the skirted part has ample room for tummy, I’d suggest either sizing up if you have quite a large chest or sticking to your normal size in Simply Be if not. There are quite a few denim smock type dresses around at the moment but this was the one that was meant to be mine! Also, no stranger to a cardigan, I treated myself to this lovely camel coloured one from ASOS Curve, another to add to my never ending collection of knitwear, I’m obsessed, seriously!
This dress is just going to be so perfect for summer I’m itching for the warmer days and afternoon park walks to come along, but not only that it’s such a simple piece it will last through all the seasons, team with tights, boots and lots of layers later on in the Autumn/Winter and you’ll definitely get your money’s worth (only £30!).
What you think? How would you wear it? Lemme know your thoughts!
