kindly sent some makeup products by a company called Helen E Cosmetics to try
out and review.
their ‘Nubian’ range, for dark skin tones and the others from their main line. On the whole I
was really impressed with the products.
the eyeliner pencil in ‘Sage’, a coloured gloss in the shade ‘Naked’ and a lip
crayon in ‘Pomegranate’.
effortlessly and with the attached smudger at the opposite end it takes very well to achieving a smokey look. I‘m definitely hoping to try the black one, if the texture is the same as the Sage then I’ll be recommending it to everyone. With its duo-ended
fabulousness it could be all you need to change a day look into night time glam.
really use on myself due to the fact that they both have shimmer/glitter in them. I’m
not a fan of glitter on my lips but there are good qualities about both
of these products. The lipgloss is sticky, now I know that doesn’t sound like a
positive thing but trust me it is! The stickier the gloss is, the longer it will
stay put, really thin watery lip glosses will have you reapplying them all the time,
so for long lasting gloss sticky is the way to go.
silver shimmers in it, and for ladies who want to appear to have fuller lips,
shimmery/glittery lip products will do that. This lip crayon is a beautiful
colour and the texture is lovely too. It goes on and dries matte and is very
easy to apply. Once on it doesn’t budge so you don’t have to worry about the
colour bleeding or needing the use of a liner. I actually feel like this product would also
be very good used as a lip liner or lip base for other products to go on top
of, but again a very nice quality lip product.
Nubian Skin Smoother Palette and the Nubian Pressed Powder. These were actually
my two favourites!
The “Skin Smoother” is a very lightweight cream that looks
really natural and evens out your skin tone without looking like your face is
plastered with makeup. This product can be layered and built up if you wish to
increase the amount of coverage, this is perfect for everyday wear. It
feels just like skin and dries down to a perfect finish. It’s
definitely matte but doesn’t look dry at all and somehow has a dewy quality without
any shine. I didn’t need to set this product with a powder like I do with most
liquid and cream foundations, it feels beautiful on the face, like
it’s not even there. The only thing is that there is quite a bit of transfer,
which my cream scarf didn’t really like but that’s the only issue I had with
requested because I knew instantly just from seeing it on the website that I
would love it. What do you know? I DO!!!! They have this product in two colours, Terracotta and Plum. I asked for it in
Terracotta because I love orange toned blushes in the summer; these colours
look amazing on women of colour all the way from olive toned to ebony toned
women. As this powder is matte it doesn’t have that “summer glow” dewiness about it so it can be worn all year round just to warm up the face
and it does that perfectly.
The powder is super finely milled and pressed and
goes on like a dream. I cannot rave about this product enough there’s nothing
I don’t like about it and it’s one that I will definitely be buying for myself
once this one runs out! Speaking of which, you get an obscene amount of this
product, there’s a whole 16g in the pan and it’s so highly pigmented that a
little goes a very long way. I will definitely be investing in the Plum shade
as well, they are a must have for myself and my pro kit!
I hope you enjoyed this review and lookin’ forward to bringing you something exciting next month!
