Butterflies & Domino Dolls

Evenin' lovelies!

I've finally started re-engaging with the world and getting myself out and about again, I've had a great, much needed rest and it's time to start terrorising the general public again me thinks. My Sarah-Face friend has been my saving grace and made sure I don't end up being a big, boring recluse. We had a girly night on Friday and went to see the new Channing Tatum flick Magic Mike, I'm not gonna say too much about it but, ladies, its a MUST SEE!

I went pretty casual and managed to wear my Joe Browns Butterfly Tunic that I showed you in this post which I had recently purchased from Georgina via eBay. The truth about this tunic is, I actually had one years ago but I wore it to it's absolute death, so when I saw Georgina selling hers I couldn't let it go to anyone else. I quite like Joe Browns stuff, it's really easy to wear, gorgeously quirky and fun, but, I always find it a bit short in the body/torso/boobs, does anyone else have that problem with it? Maybe it's just me? I've kinda stopped buying it now because of that reason though which is a shame because I always look at it longingly. Nevermind! Anyway here are a couple of snaps, as always I give you the very best in location photography, in my Mom's kitchen, who needs a Manhattan sidewalk? *Pah*....

Butterfly Print Tunic - Joe Browns @ Simply Be (UK 28)
Black Leggings - Rogers & Rogers @ Matalan (UK 24)
Beige Cardigan - Primark (UK20)
Leopard Print Scarf - H&M
Belt - Evans (Large)
Gold Ballerina Flats - George @ Asda (UK 6.5)
Black Satchel - OneStopPlus UK

Gotta give a massive shout to George at Asda for these amazing, super soft ballerina's. I bought them a month or so ago for like £7 and I love, love love them! So easy to wear and so soft and comfy and pretty. I've also got wide feet and I always find that the shoes from George always accommodate for them really well. I bought them in store but they do have them online in a few other colours, so if you like a decent pair of cute flats then give these a try! Big thumbs up from me!

And last but not least I am so pleased to be able to say I am finally a Domino Doll! Wahoooooooo! My order arrived literally 5 days after I had placed it. So of course, when I went for drinks on Saturday night I had to wear this badboy! Pulled it together with some sparkle and my fave, oversized Jane Norman gold clutch and here I am......

Black and White Striped Chiffon Skirt - $49.99 Domino Dollhouse (US 4X)
Sequin Vest Top - New Look Inspire (UK 26)
Triple Buckle Belt - Evans (Large)
Black Chiffon Shrug - New Look Inspire (UK 26)
Black Wedges - New Look (UK 6)
Gold Oversized Clutch - Jane Norman
Choker - Can't remember!

I felt like I couldn't get a picture I was happy with of this outfit so these will have to do. The skirt is midi length and I'm a short arse so I felt like every pic made me look like I had no legs! Anyway, I am absolutely, 100% in love with this item, it's just so show stoppingly wow! Yeh, I actually said that! Haha! I ordered the 4X as I was concerned about fit around my tummy, but I can honestly say I could have easily sized down to a 3X. It's not a problem, the skirt still fit fine but there is definitely lots of extra room. It would easily fit someone a size or 2 bigger than myself. So if you are around the same size as me and you do look to order definitely go for a 3X. I think the skirt is great quality for the price, it's fully lined so no need to worry about exposure, the back of the waistband has loads of stretch for comfort and it's really well made, even with the shipping costs it's worth every penny. Oh and here I am looking like a right bell end.....

I also purchased some awesome, super pretentious, cat eye sunglasses along with the skirt, but alas, the British weather has scuppered me being able to wear them just yet. I'll take some snaps and show you soon!

Right I'm off to eat curry and watch Sex and The City all over again!

BIG LOVE
XOXOXOX

Domino Dollhouse - Urban Mermaids

Evenin' lovelies!

Today is the day, the day where I actually managed to purchase an item I have been lusting after from one of Domino Dollhouse's awesome collections.

Not so long ago the fabulous plus size independant boutique released their 'Rebel Rebel' collection and had the most amazing polka dot skirt, I lusted and lusted and lusted after it but unfortunately for me their collections are so popular it sold out super quickly and I just didn't manage to bag myself one *boooooooo*.

Domino Dollhouse's amazingly styled 'Rebel Rebel' collection

When I heard about their most recent collection being launched 'Urban Mermaids' and clapped eyes on this amazing 'Full Skirt in Black & White Stripe' I made a deal with myself that I wasn't going to miss out this time around! Low and behold I literally just this second managed to pick myself one up! *Wahoooooo*

Regardless of how much shipping was going to cost me I knew I wanted it and I ended up pleasantly surprised, international postage to my address was a bargain £8.64 with an expected 4-7 day delivery, wow! Oh and they also accept PayPal which was a massive bonus for me as I didn't want to have to use my credit card.

So now I anxiously await it's arrival. I ordered myself the 4X hoping that it should be a pretty good fit, oh and I also cheekily picked up some ultra glam cat eye sunglasses (even though we have zero sunshine here!) but they were also a steal!

I'm all for keeping independant plus retailers alive and kicking and am so pleased that Domino Dollhouse is here to offer amazing, fashion forward pieces at really affordable prices, go check them out NOW!

P.S I also got 15% off my order with the discount code 'TESS' courtesy of the awesomeballs Tess Munster via her Facebook fan page! ;)

Right I'm off! But I promise to do an outfit post when the goods arrive! *squeeeee*

Big Love!

Summer Style Trials - One Stop Plus

Evenin' lovelies!

I was contacted by online plus size retailer OneStopPlus not too long ago asking me if I would like to take part in a summer style challenge, whereby 5 bloggers were asked to spend £100 on items from their Spring/Summer 2012 collection and create an outfit.

Now, I'm going to be honest, I'm not a massive 'trend' follower, I'm one of those people that just kinda likes what they like, I'm more of a 'trend dabbler' or a pick 'n' mixer. I very often start off with a basic piece and kinda build around it, once I am set on one item I get more and more inspired and it just kinda ends up as whatever it is rather than loads and loads of integral planning and trend watching. I also love items that I can wear over and over and over again, regardless of what 'trend' is going on at that particular time.

So, after having a nosey around the OSP site I chose a very basic black, cotton dress and from there my outfit turned into this...

Black Suede Satchel - OneStopPlus (no longer available)

...and once it was all placed on my perfectly plus sized frame it looked like this...

Belt - New Look Inspire (part of another dress)
Rose Gold Peeptoe Flats - H&M
Leather Gold Leaf Earrings - Gift

So there it is! My outfit with a little infusion of the tribal print trend. As soon as I saw that Ikat print scarf  I knew I needed it, I am a scarf fanatic and I literally cannot leave the house without one. I like versatility in outfits, so by using accessories like a printed scarf you can take on a trend without having to go the whole hog and spending a fortune on something that may not be too hot the next season! When I think of summer I am instantly drawn to brights and opulence, so I tied the outfit together with the earrings, belt and shoes. The denim jacket? Well, denim never goes out of style does it really, a great piece which will last season, after season, after season, and of course, seems as though we are in the UK so a jacket is essential, summer or no summer!

But I took my outfit one step further, naughty? A little maybe (don't disqualify me! lol), but like I said, I am all about versatility and getting maximum wearage out of items, I also know that money's too tight to mention for a lot of us currently so being able to re-work key pieces is really helpful to get the most from your wardrobe. This little bargainous (now under 10 quid) dress can take you straight through from summer to your autumn/winter wardrobe, or can be used as a great little outfit for the office. I threw it on with some coloured tights, patent black flats, printed cardigan, switched up the belt and popped on my peter pan pearl collar and had another look (which I rather like!).

All of the items used in this challenge are now on sale over at OSP and I can guarantee that all of them will not only get you through our last ebb's of whatever summer we are supposedly having but will be able to be worked right through the autumn/winter months so you can get the most out of them for minimum cost!

Anyway I hope you liked my little attempt at this OneStopPlus challenge, enough of my babbling now, go and check out the other ladies whom have taken part...

Big Love!
