One Woman's Junk......

Evenin' ladycakes!

Happy weekend! Hope you are all having fabulous Saturday evening's! I'm still pretty much house bound but I am on the mend and will be out and about soon. Getting massively cabin feverish now so it's about time I re-introduced myself to the outdoors.

Today was the first time I have gotten myself together, put on some makeup and made an attempt to wear some kind of outfit, mind you it didn't really last very long it was really all just to show you guys!

I purchased a cute little polka dot tunic from an eBay retailer a few days ago and seems as though I've not been out of the house for fear being mowed down whilst taking too long crossing the road with my gammy foot I threw it on, put on some lippy and played around with how I would probably wear it if I was actually doing something with my night.

I gave it a bit of a 50's look, with the hot red lips and flower corsage, quite cute really, mind you I think when I do actually wear it out and about I'll throw it on with my skinny black jeggings as it is a bit on the short side and I always get a little bit paranoid whilst swanning about in leggings with something that may not fully cover my nether regions, you never know who may be copping a cheeky look, or a naughty candid snap to broadcast your misdemeanor to the world (the joys of social media!). The tunic itself was a bargain really at only £12.99, the material is a little thin and the print may not last particularly long after a few washes but it's a nice little piece I think, very easy to wear.

I really like eBay for picking up bargains and I use it a lot. One of my most used sayings when people ask me where I got something from is "Oh I got it off eBay for a couple of quid" and love the reaction I get when they are astounded that you can put together a bloody good outfit from an auction site. On this occasion the item isn't second hand but I love trawling through listings of other peoples old clothes, one woman's cast off is another's pride and joy I say, some of my most loved items are ones that I've picked up from people who are just having a clear out. For instance, I recently picked up this gorgeous Joe Browns butterfly tunic from Georgina of Cupcakes Clothes! Cheers love!

So the moral of this story is, don't overlook the likes of eBay for finding little wardrobe gems, we aren't just limited to the likes of Evan's and the allusive New Look Inspire concession in some dingy corner of a store. Here are some of my favourite eBay stores, don't forget there are many well known retailers whom now list excess and/or clearance stock through eBay....

(Apologies that the links aren't pink, having technical issues and I hate when things don't match! Grrrr!)

These are just a few links but I hope they'll help you along your little fatshion pathways, we all know how frustrating it is to be so limited with options in the plus size fashion world so anytime we can pass on our shopping wisdom to each other is a bonus as far as I'm concerned. If you have any others make sure you let us all know, leave a comment or drop an email or anything, just share and share alike!

Right, I'm off now, enjoy the rest of your weekends!

Oh and right after I finished playing dress up, I was right back in my scrubs.......so glam! *NOT*!

 Big Love!

June GlossyBox

Evenin' Lovelies!

Can't you just tell I've got a bit too much time on my hands at the mo? I'm currently not well, getting over a chest infection and some other stuff but absolutely cannot take anymore daytime T.V! How do people do it? Subject themselves to that god awful nonsense day in day out?! UGH!

Anyway I was very happy when I received my June GlossyBox yesterday, kept me rather occupied for a little while, so I thought I'd give you a little nosey....

This months box seemed very skincare based from the what I received. Items included were:
  • GlossyBox branded Pro Beauty Brush
  • HD Brows Precision Tweezers
  • BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer
  • Green People Sun Lotion with Tan Accelerator
  • Vichy Dermablend Ultra-Corective Foundation Cream Stick Samples
Quite an interesting little box for me mainly as I am particularly interested in giving the Vichy samples a go. The Vichy Dermablend claims to be able to camouflage minor to severe skin flaws I really want to give this a whirl as I have a few scars around my jaw line from picking at imperfections years ago and now I am mega conscious about how my skin looks, I never leave the house without foundation on because of how paranoid I am about the scars I feel I have, so I will make sure I report back on how this one goes!

The next item I really liked was GlossyBox's own branded beauty brush. Made from Asian Mountain Goat hair this brush is super soft and I am definitely looking forward to their step by step bronzing masterclass on their blog so I can test this bad boy out!

And lastly, the most coveted item for me are these amazing HD Brows Precision Tweezers. HD Brows is being talked about loads at the minute and it's got some great reviews, I know Laura of What Laura Loves talks about their treatments in depth in her post here if you are wandering about them! I honestly had never really given much thought to tweezers, I always just pick up any old pair from Boots or the likes and just get on with overplucking, but I gave these a try this afternoon and I couldn't get over how light weight and perfect they were, these are a god send and I shall be making sure they don't disappear any time soon! I really need to start leaving my eyebrows alone and get them re-worked but after going mental with a set of tweezers when I was about 15 years old, well I've been left with a plucking addiction! *EEEP*

I haven't really checked out the BM Bronzer or the Green People Sun Lotion yet but I'll give them a test run v.soon! Make sure you give GlossyBox a nosey!

BIG LOVE

But-Fest 2012 & My OOTD....

Ello ello!

How are you all m'dears? Do you remember when I did But-Fest 2011 last year from this post? Well, I am currently in recovery from But-Fest round 2, sat on the sofa with a brew and some god awful television. Unfortunately this time around I wasn't in the best of health and had to forego some of the fun due to circumstances out of my control and take it a bit easier. I was struck with tonsillitis about 2 days before I was due to arrive at the mighty Minehead Butlins resort for their '90's Reloaded' weekender, I couldn't have been more frustrated with myself that I wasn't up to my usual 100% party girl standard, if you have gathered anything about me in this short time I have been letting you into my life you will know that Naomi likes a good ol' time, wherever there's a party, Naomi won't be too far away....

I was born in 1984 which meant I was a teen in the 90's and well into the whole pop/boyband/Spice Girls scene, a weekend consisting of nothing but pure 90's cheese was right up my street, I even got to see 911, who I absolutely loved when I was about 13 years old! (OMG!).

I made it out for drinks on the Saturday night which is usually the night when the whole camp rocks out in their best fancy dress. I was really slack on putting together a fancy dress outfit this year and had to go for a very, very poor representation of Scary Spice which equated to me making my hair as big as possible, throwing on a leopard print dress and just winging it whilst my friends had put loads of effort into their costumes, I felt like a right fraud, because I looked absolutely bugger all like anything other than Naomi dressed up for Saturday night! Poor show Noms, poor show! But I did manage to resurrect my love for a dress that I thought I hated....

Leopard Print Dress - New Look Inspire (UK 26)
Black Chiffon Shrug - New Look Inspire (UK 26)
Pink Neon Belt - New Look Inspire (came with another dress)
Black Footless Tights - We Love Colors
Black Wedge Heels - New Look
Clutch - Primark

I originally bought and wore this dress for Plus London 2 and loved it, but then for some reason fell right out of love with it (god I'm so fickle!). I threw it together with a bit of neon and some footless tights for Saturday night of Butlins and actually I quite like it again, so it is now back in my wardrobe and safely out of my eBay pile!

Anyway I thought I'd give you a few snaps from the weekend....

Me and Lucy, the most loveable nutcase in the world! God bless her and her Mono-Flap (Maybe I'll explain that another time!)

Yep, anything is possible in Butlins, I spent Saturday afternoon raving with a Zebra to 911! Now theres a sentence I never imagined I'd say!

911 performing! They're so teeny tiny!!!!!

Mrs Doubtfire, myself and G.I Jane....

Axl Rose aka Lorna giving Mrs Doubtfire a good ol' grope!

That would be me, chomping a truncheon...no pun intended! ;)

Drunk posing...of course!

Myself, Miranda as something I cannot remember but her makeup was fantastic and bloody scary and Mrs Doubtfire pulling her/his best pout!

Next year Butlins, I promise to be on top form to redeem myself in the eyes of the Gods of Partying, I am so ashamed of myself!

That's all from me today lovelies!

BIG LOVE!

I'm not dead....yet!

OMG!

I AM BACK BIZNITCHES!

Why hello there, how the devil are you beautiful people? I have thought about you lots and lots and I am happy to say I have returned after my brief absence. I ain't gonna go into chapter and verse about some deep and meaningful bollocks that made me go away for a while, in all honesty I just wasn't feeling particularly inspired, I was fucked right off with the choice of clothing out there for girls of a size 26 plus which seems to have got a real bee in my bonnet at the moment and finally I was having mega bad confidence issues, I think it's safe to assume that I am back on usual Naomi form though, I gots me hair did, started taking some time for me and I've got some epic fun times a coming that have got my mojo right back on track!

I wanted to give a few shout outs to a couple of people who have really bought me back to my sense and encouraged me to come back, first of all the lovely Sarah whom stopped me in Starbucks last week and recognised me from the blog, I say this a lot but I honestly forget that people actually read this little bit of random space of mine, so when I'm wandering around in my own little world and people go 'Oh hai, aren't you that girl from.....' I'm sorry if I look a little bemused! Sarah it was great to meet you and thanks for reading. Secondly is a mention to Lou Carroooooooo, I'm back Lou, LOOK! :) And lastly a mention to my Sazzle-pop friend, Sarah is one of my oldest friends in the world and is one of this blogs biggest supporters, it warms my heart so much to have a friend whom truly believes in what you do and is so proud of it that they don't hestitate to stop and tell practically anybody who will listen about the blog. Thanks girl for being an amazing friend, I love you lots!

 Sazzle lookin gorge!

Anyway, mushy stuff aside, lets get down to it, I've only gone and got you a little old OOTD post, OMG! Last night my office got together and had a bit of a celebration to let off some steam after a tough few months. Yeah, work has been pretty stressful of late and this has also contributed to my temporary slink into the background. It was a theme night based on 'The Oscars' in a shabby-chic venue (definitely more shabby than chic!). As soon as I heard this night was being arranged I knew I had to have a fabulous dress, I did go through a bit of a 'ZOMG'ed what do I wear?' stress out and consulted the good folk of Twitter for some assistance but then I remembered I had an amazing dress hanging in my wardrobe that had never got it's debut. I had it well over a year ago after I purchased it from online American plus size retailer Lucie Lu with a voucher that I won from Val of Blog To Be Alive (Thanks gurl!).

I'm not gonna ramble on too much more so I'm just gonna get straight onto the photo's......

Cardigan (UK24) - New Look Inspire
Nude Kitten Heels (UK 7) - £12.99 Internacionale

I know, I'm not much of a photographer but I will never fail to bring you real life action shots, haha! This dress is mega cute, it's super stretchy, so comfortable and just perfect in every way! Lucie Lu doesn't seem to have this colour left online anymore but they do have a some other colours that are just as nice and also currently on sale. Great little item to have in your wardrobe for a special occasion. Be warned though customs will get you like a bitch!

Anyway, I'm not going to go and over do it and blog myself out all at once, so, I'm gonna go for now.

Thanks for coming along and reading guys, it really means a lot, oh and hi to all the new followers! I am very nearly at the big 300!!!!!!!!

For now lovelies....

BIG LOVE
