OOTD One Dress, Two Styles - How I wore it.

Ello my lovelies!

I am back, illness free and this post has been a long time coming! I have literally only been back in clothes and pyjama free since about Wednesday of last week as I have spent pretty much the past fortnight laid up with shingles and flu, (thrilling!).

I am a little bit annoyed with myself as over this past weekend I have worn loads of different outfits which I have really wanted to show you but I am rubbish at getting pictures taken. I hate asking people to snap me as I get really embarassed, spesh if I'm asking my mom as she is so over critical of the way I look, I just can't relax in front of the camera when she is in control! Thus meaning that 90% of the time, you will have to just tolerate pics taken in front of a mirror with my Iphone, I'm no David Bailey, apologies!

However, I did promise Claire that I would take part in a little blog collaberation with her as we both threw our money at the same New Look Inspire dress again recently. Check out Claires cute look here! This is fast becoming a regular occurance. New Look Inspire is really churning out some great must have pieces for us plus sizers and although I am aware it is definitely not the favourite of many, it is a fave shopping haunt for moi!

We both primped for the Peach Daisy Lace Dress for a very reasonable £26.99 and wanted to see how we would both wear it.I ordered mine in a size 26 and it fits perfectly, I have said on many occassions I am definitely over and above a size 26, more a 28-30 but I can regularly get away with New Look Inspire pieces in certain fabrics and cuts, this is a cut that works well for me and whenever Inspire brings out these sorts of dresses I pick them up instantly as I know I'm rarely going to be disappointed!

Anyway, here is how I wore mine for a wander around town this afternoon....

Peach Daisy Lace Dress - £26.99 New Look Inspire
Denim Shirt - New Look Inspire (few seasons old)
Multi-coloured Scarf - H&M (few seasons old)
Owl Pocket Watch Pendant - £4.00 Primark
Diamante Bow Flats - Primark (a while ago)
Leggings - £8.00 Rogers & Rogers @ Matalan

A bit like how the Swallow Print Dress made its rounds around the plus size blogosphere I don't doubt that this one will pop up a few more times yet too! How will you wear yours ladies?!

Big love

GlossyBox Valentines Day Edition

Mornin' Lovelies!

I was sent a GlossyBox to review a couple of months ago, and was thrilled to have a Valentines Limited Edition box drop on my doorstep recently full of lots of goodies! Great little pick me up!

I have a lot of love for GlossyBox, I think they're a right good girly treat for some epic pampering fabulousness! Each month a new box turns up with some great new products to try out, like I've said before, if you are on a bit of a budget and want a little pick me up treat the GlossyBox concept is great for just £10 per month (plus p+p) you can have a little treasure chest of loveliness!

I was quite impressed with the Valentines Day Edition, included was an Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner in Powder Pink, a Murad primer, a First Aid Beauty (FAB) body wash and a Davines Moisturising Balm and Cleansing Nectar.

Murad Primer

Davines Cleansing Nectar

I am yet to try out the Davines cleanser or the Murad primer, but I have given the Eyeko liner, Davines balm and the FAB body wash a try.

The Eyeko liner is in Powder Pink, it's a great shade to go with this seasons pastel trend but I have to admit, it's not really a colour I found I could do much with. I gave it a go but ended up using it on the inner corners of my eyes just to lighten them up a bit, maybe it's my lack of makeup artistry skills or this colour just doesn't work for me? The pencil itself is great, a lovely soft, sturdy liner, I will definitely be looking into buying shades more suited to me from the brand. I wasn't familiar with Eyeko but now I am I shall be having a delve into what else they offer.

Eyeko Powder Pink Skinny liner

The Davines items are really interesting as they are multi-purpose and designed to work on face, body and hair. My first thoughts were that they would be perfect for traveling as you have multi use essentials to save on carrying a million different little pots and containers. The balm is particularly nice, I have had really dry hands just recently and used a spot of it to try and perk them up a bit. A little bit goes a long way and the smell is fabulous, they are also made from nearly 100% all natural ingredients, definitely a great little treat!

Davines Moisturising Balm

And lastly I gave the First Aid Beauty body wash a go. I have had a hell of a cold just recently which has left my skin very dry and chapped around my nose. The wash was really gentle and wasn't overpowered with a tarty scent like a lot of facial washes, it has definitely relieved my skin of some of the redness that it had which is good and has left it feeling super clean. A full size bottle is between £10.00 and £13.00 dependent on where you pick it up from, which I don't feel is a bad price at all for a good wash if it works well for you. This is why something like GlossyBox is a great idea, you get to give things a try for a very small price!

Glossy are also running a Valentines Day competition at the moment to win a trip for 2 to Paris! Head over to the GlossyBox Facebook page to enter there's only a short time left to be in it to win it!

Big Love!

Plus London Two!

Ello lovelies!

Well what can I say, I know I'm late to the parade of posts over another very successful Plus London event, but as they say, better late than never!

I had a really fab time, and my personal highlights were getting to visit the Anna Scholz design studio and my amazing Elomi bra fitting!

Anna Scholz for me has always been a bit of an idol, a designer of plus size whom actually understands plus size! I know it shouldn't really be an issue but understanding the needs of a plus size body in order to be able to dress it well is so important! So many brands get this so wrong because they just don't understand. With Anna, it's not an issue, being a plus sized lady herself, her designs accommodate curves incredibly without compromising on style, elegance and comfort!

Anna's team were so welcoming and so open to taking on feedback from us, and believe me, we're no shrinking violets! Between rummaging through the rails of the beautiful new Spring/Summer 2012 White Label and Black Label collections, eating gorgeous cupcakes and drinking wine, we got the chance to really get to know Anna and the brand, how hard it has been to get a plus size luxury brand like hers on the map and the struggle to keep it where it is! It makes you appreciate the price tag of each garment so much more when you realise this is a brand that is made out of love and appreciation for their customers and the drive to make it succeed, her clothing is pure quality from start to finish.

Bethany & Amy enjoying cake and looking fabulous!

Anna showing us some more of her beautiful designs.

My personal favourite items are the Double Silk Corset Strap Maxi Dress from her White Label collection, in the most fabulous palm print I have ever seen. It makes me long for holidays, blue skies and sunshine!

And from her Black Label collection I am all over a fabulous poodle print tunic which should hopefully be online soon! So quirky and fun!

Big thank you to Anna Scholz and the team for being so welcoming and open!

After the Anna event, I hopped off and braved Westfield in Shepherds Bush (I must have been mental!). I had packed a number of dresses to wear to the evening event, but being the typical indecisive Libra that I am, and a serial shopaholic I couldn't help but purchase a cheeky new number from, yep you guessed it, New Look Inspire! I picked up a really cute leopard print dress and due to the heavy snow fall that evening, I whacked it on with my little furry ankle boots, tights and my long standing, very favourite Evans biker jacket! The picture was actually taken at about 4am Sunday morning after an epic bit of drinking fun after the Plus London event, it's the only pic I really have of me in it, apologies!

Leopard Dress - £26.99 New Look Inspire
Biker Jacket - Evans
Tights - We Love Colors
Boots - £39 Evans

Due to adverse weather conditions, we were late to the event and missed the OneStopPlus catwalk show, but arrived with enough time to meet and greet new and old faces! But the night flew by so quickly there are so many of you that I missed! Wendy filled us with amazing cupcakes, Em was on hand dishing out the raffle tickets and Claire was the hostess with the mostess! Well done to all whom made it a really great night!

Had to include this epic little number of Carla after she bombed my phone.....always a pleasure love!

But, my absolute highlight has to be meeting the Elomi team. I wittered on to Holly (sorry love!) about the constant battle I have with my boobs! I told her my story about how I recently went into Evans for a fitting and was told to try on a 48DD! Now, I understand this whole rule with the numbers and adding and subtracting this that and the other, but someone, somewhere needs to start applying some common sense! There was no way my rack was squeezing into a DD cup bra and Holly and the Elomi girls agreed and were shocked! My terrible experiences over the years with bra fittings have made me terrified! But meeting Elomi has changed that for me!

Elomi's bra fitter (whose name I have forgotten, I am so sorry!), was amazing! She took one look at me and knew exactly what my boobies needed to be nestled in, a 46G! But here is my problem, for around 2 years now I have been wearing 46G bra's but have been seriously doubting if it was the right size for me due to the constant rubbing I get around the back band on my left side. Over the last few months, the rubbing has become so bad I have broken skin which is so sore some days I could seriously cry. My bra's make me so uncomfortable some days I just could break down. The reason isn't because I am we
aring the wrong cup size, or back size, it's because of the quality of the bands, unfortunately my body makes them roll up and chafe my skin and due to having to constantly wear a bra the cycle never seems to stop. The lovely fitter noticed this straight away and even noticed that the Elomi bra she had fitted me in was doing the same thing. She took the feedback on board and really wanted to help find a solution for this problem that I am having. I have been advised to find bra's with wider width bands to help alleviate the issue but in the meantime I know Elomi are going to look into this, fantastic! Do any of you other ladies have this problem at all? If so, get in touch! It is really important that feedback like this is given to brands in order for them to be able to rectify it!

Big thank you to Elomi for listening and being fabulous! You have made me and my boobies very happy! :)

At the end of the night I was laden with heaps of goodies, including a £25 Navabi voucher which I won on the raffle and can't wait to spend! Thank you Claire and crew for organising another year of Plus London, also a big thank you to the other sponsors involved, Simply Be, Eliza Parker, Bijou Bijoux, Benita Blue, Evans, Domino Dollhouse, ASOS, Masaari I am so proud to be part of this community, you are all seriously fabulous!

Big Love Guys!

Red Lips & Leopard Print OOTD

Ello my lovelies!

I wanted to just drop off a quick outfit post before the weekend.

I went through a full on case of January blues recently, was mega run down and just *meh*. But after a Saturday spent dolling myself up and indulging in a bit of me time, I soon started to feel myself again.

I honestly don't know what came over me, I have heard on many occasions about S.A.D (Seasonal Affective Disorder) a condition which affects people during the winter and I'm not saying I have it but I can seriously understand the reasoning behind it and how the long dark months can affect individuals. I recently have been going to work early in the morning in the dark, come home late at night in the dark, eat and go to sleep and repeat cycle, its so repetitive and mundane that it really has sapped the life out of me. These things aren't to be overlooked I suppose, quality of life and your mental state are really important things to look after. I am a firm believer in a healthy mind! I don't want to feel like that again, horrible horrible feeling!

So anyway, a couple of Saturdays ago, I threw on some leopard print, slicked my lips with a bit of red and off I went for a bit of retail therapy! It's amazing what red lippy can do for confidence, actually it's amazing what confidence can do for red lippy! I always find it's one of those really bold statements that says 'I'm out to tackle the world, and no one is going to stop me!' and that's exactly how I felt....

Leopard Print Top - New Look Inspire
Jeggings - C/O Daxon
Red Patent Bow Shoes - New Look
Gold Bangles - Primark
Red Lippy - Rimmel

These pictures were taken in an Evans changing room when I went for a bra fitting (big mistake!). But that's a whole other story!

Right now I need to go and get my skates on and get ready to haul my ass down to London for some Plus London 2 shiz!

My lesson today? Look after yourselves lovelies! Your mind is as, if not more important than your matter! Stay beautiful!

Big Love
