Zandra Rhodes for Simply Be Launch

Evening guys!

How are you?

I was recently lucky enough to win a spot at the Zandra Rhodes launch event through the Simply Be Facebook competition that they had going on a short while ago. I was treated to travel down to London, a nights stay in a lovely hotel and some spends for the Simply Be website to chose myself a fab outfit for the event! Perfect! I was also thrilled to be able to catch up with some of my favourite blogger girlies, and have a good ol' gossip! I have only been around this little community a short while and love how welcome I have been made to feel, so just a little thank you to you all :)

Lauren, Kat, Lacara

I arrived at the venue with 2 lovely ladies from the Simply Be team who made me feel very welcome, I was also thrilled to see them proudly wearing items from the new Zandra range. The venue was lovely, at the top of a building which boasted amazing views of London, with yummy breakfast being served, gorgeous clothes hanging from railings and a room full of gorgeous girlies all enjoying the morning and looking amazing!

Gorgeous Girls modelling Zandra's items!

We were free to roam the rails and some ladies even tried on the items and gave us a little show! Loads of photos were taken and it was just a really positive lovely morning. Zandra freely chatted away with everybody and was interested in what we thought about the range. I have to say I was totally wowed by her style, she is such a unique character, she also wore a gorgeous chiffon kaftan from the range, amazing sparkly flares and the best glittery red platforms I have ever seen, all topped off with her fabulous pink bob! What a woman!

Myself and Zandra (She looks teeny tiny next to me! hehe)

Zandra being interviewed

I have to say I am quite impressed by the range, out of the 7 pieces I have seen I have my eye on at least 3 of them to own, including a gorgeous beige kimono maxi dress, a flowing purple kaftan and a feather print chiffon jacket. The items are all very classic and will last for seasons if you choose to invest, the other plus point I found about the items is that they look great on every body shape, such a vast range of shapes and sizes of women wore the items and every one of them looked fantastic!

Beige Kimono Maxi Dress - £99

Feather Print Chiffon Jacket - £49
(This pic doesn't do it justice it is lovely!)

Oh and also, I opted for the Pineapple Print Tunic as my outfit and I absolutely love it! Well worth a look ladies, I have had so many compliments on this item, generously sized but oh so comfortable and fun to wear! Check it out!

My bargain H&M platform sandals reduced to £5!!!

The range is currently available for pre-order at the Simply Be Preview Website there are also some other great Autumn/Winter items on show over there too!

Anyway enough for tonight, big thanks to the Simply Be team for having me, oh and look out for the announcements on new Simply Be stores due to open! CAN.NOT.WAIT!

Curvissa Summer Shoes *Guest Post*

Up and coming Plus Size brand Curvissa recently contacted me and asked if I would be interested in letting them have a guest post spot on my blog. At first I have to admit, as some of you may know, I was a little reluctant as I wasn't particular fond of having the pre-written guest content on my blog. But after some thinking my decision has been to put it up. Why? Well because for this reason, I am always, always happy to see new plus size retailers come out onto the market and, if I can help in some way to to raise the profile in order to give us girlies some more choice than whats the harm in a little post?! Lovely fellow bloggers Lacara and Lauren were lucky enough to have been invited along to the Curvissa launch (not a bit bitter at all *cough cough* hehe) and they have some great pics and interviews with Josie Gibson, 2010 winner of reality T.V show Big Brother, go check out there views on the new brand too! Also the post is about shoes, which I'm not gonna lie, I love, they never let me down, shoes ALWAYS fit!

Anyway, over to Curvissa....

Curvissa Summer Shoes

Don’t give up on summer just yet! There’s still plenty of time to step out in style in a pair of fashion fabulous shoes, all available from new plus size brand, Curvissa.

At the office

Work shoes are all about striking the balance between comfort and style and, during those long, hot summer days, you also need to give your feet some room to breathe.

These adjustable strap sandals by Esprit tick all of these boxes. Perfect with a pair of boot cut trousers and a chic shirt, they provide an extra leg lift, without the toe torture.

On holiday

For a super stylish look while you’re away, opt for a pair of on-trend wedges in neutral shades of brown, beige and tan. Wedges are often more comfortable than thin heels, so they should see you through from day to night comfortably.

These strappy wedge sandals by Bullboxer would look great with a maxi dress or floral summer number and add the perfect amount of casual and glamour to any outfit.

Nights out

Glamorous nights out are the perfect opportunity to make a real statement with your shoes. Work summer style into your night time wardrobe with these nautical inspired platforms by Buffalo.

The blue and white stripe detail contrasts gorgeously with the red sole, and the peep toe creates the perfect finishing touch. Team with block colours of red, white or blue (but not all three) to work the nautical look flawlessly.

Summer shopping

For those tiring shopping sprees, give your feet a well earned break from towering heels in a pair of cute ballerina pumps. A fashion favourite, these shoes have seen a recent boost thanks to the ballet micro trend that surfaced at the beginning of the season.

Add a splash of colour to your outfit in these casual ballerina pumps, available in vibrant red or purple. Team with a pair of cropped trousers and a casual t-shirt, for laid back elegance and style.

BBQ time

When the rain stops for long enough to get your friends over for a BBQ, adorn your feet in a pair of glitzy gladiator sandals. Gone are the days when sandals were confined to beachwear, these fashionable shoes can be dressed up or down and worn to a variety of social events.

With an embroidered appliqué detail and colourful multi straps, these sandals are perfect for BBQ’s and gatherings. Wear them with jeans for daytime casual or with an on-trend playsuit for after party drinks.

Check them out and let me know what you think!

Beauty On a Budget NYC Color & Eylure

Evening guys!

So, I thought Id do a little beauty post. Ive mentioned many times that I am an absolute makeup fiend! I love it, love, love, love, love, love it!

Anyway, I'm on a bit of a budget at the moment, I have had a fabulous few weeks seriously enjoying myself with friends, but, alas, now it has to be paid for!

So whilst I was out shopping on Saturday getting a few essentials I picked myself up a blusher and some new lashes from Superdrug (think I just wanted to use my beauty card!).

The blusher is by New York Color, a really great budget cosmetic range. I usually always use a bronzer on my cheeks but I fancied a bit of a change and thought I'd mix it up a bit with a swish of pink. I opted for the 'Pink Cheek Glow Mosaic' for a bargain £2.49! It is a great mix of some really great shades which blend beautifully to give a really natural glow if a little is applied and if you want to go all out just apply a swish more to give you a really popping pink set of cheeks. The powder is very lovely and light, but a little bit goes a long way!

The other bargain item I indulged in was a new set of lashes. I have expressed my love for lashes here before. I am a self confessed lash whore! The lashes I picked up are by Eylure. The Eylure Intense False lashes (145) are great, they retail at Superdrug for a very reasonable £5.29. They come with their own little adhesive, but as I have blogged before I opt to use my own Duo glue sold by MAC. These lashes are super fluttery and in a brilliant, dramatic black. I personally do not need to chop them down, but if you try them you may find that you will need to. The outer corners are much longer and fluttery then the inner corner which makes them much more comfortable to wear, they are also really lightweight. My little tip, I find if you apply your adhesive and leave it for a few moments to go slightly tacky they seem to stick a bit easier first time round. May just be me though?!

Heres me abusing a bottle of (free) cheap fizz in a local bar at the weekend, but you can see the lashes and the blusher quite well!

So, if you are also on a bit of a budget and maybe want to update your makeup bag a little bit don't overlook a bit of budget beauty! The NYC Color concession in Superdrug has some really great items, most under £2.50! Check it out!

Apart from a bit of a shop on Saturday, I had a fab time last week at the Simply Be launch event for the new collection by Zandra Rhodes, which I can't wait to blog about! Will get some pics up this week! Keep an eye out!

For now lovelies, night night!

BIG LOVE!

But-Fest Pictures and Naomi as 'Charbie'!

Hi Everyone! How are you all?

So, as promised, Ive finally got round to posting some of the pics from my weekend away at Butlins! Was an awesome weekend in honour of my fellow Sister Of Mercy's 30th Birthday (Maybe Ill tell you sometime about why I am an honourary Sister Of Mercy....)
I did my little re-enactment of Charbie (aka Chubby Barbie). Done up in a blonde wig, handmade tutu, leg warmers and other 80's bits and pieces, it was my take on the fantastic, plastic one, in supah fat size! Oh and P.S Blondes definitely do not have more fun! ;)

Friday night the party starts, clad in my 'But-Fest' T-Shirt!

All ready to go party as Charbie...now, wheres my Ken?! (Tutu handmade by moi!)

Zoid, Rainbow Brite, Charbie, Timmy Mallet's Mallet, Shera, Silent Singer(?!) Ken, King of Hearts, Minnie The Minx, Hooker Barbie, Trivial Pursuit! What a bunch!

Me and my favourite Minx....

So theres my little round-up of some of the shenanigans, I simply can't post all the pics because there are hundreds and as the saying goes 'What happens in Butlins, stays in Butlins!' So technically I'm being very naughty just putting these out! Nevermind ;)

In other news, I am super excited about the Simply Be launch event this Thursday and my chance to catch up with my favourite blogger peoples! Can't wait to see you ladies!

I finally decided on an outfit, I chose the Pineapple Tunic Dress which is absolutely fantastic! I cannot wait to do an outfit post and show it to you.

I did make a few orders to see what I liked best, I ordered the Grazia Black Palazzo Pants which I was hugely disappointed with. I have been dying to get my hands on a pair and thought these would be great, unfortunately the material was horrid, really thin and cheapy, and the sizing was so small I would have needed about a UK50 to ever have gotten my backside in them. So they are being sent back, along with the Grazia studded wedges, gorgeous shoes, but if you have wide feet, like myself, you haven't got a chance of getting in them! The Viva La Diva T-Bar sandals, which are fab, but again, they didn't fit my wide feet, which I am really gutted about because I really really really wanted them! And lastly a pack of 2 longline camisoles, which are going back because they are in no way, whatsoever 'longline'. We have had a bit of a Twitter rant recently about Simply Be's sizing, I just don't know whats going on with it, such a shame because their stuff is gorgeous but I'm so reluctant to order because of the inconsistent sizing. Nevermind, lets just hope its something that gets looked at for the future. I do feel really bad now for having a moan about them, but I always promise you guys honesty and that's what you will get! I also do urge you to try these things yourself, even if they didn't work for me, you may find they work wonders for yourself!

Anyway, I'm gonna wrap it up their for now. I did do a bit of shopping yesterday and I picked up some lovely items which I am gonna work on a haul post for ya!

Big Loves!
