A few musings for this week....

Im so so so busy right now guys its ridiculous! I just cant win! *sigh*

For those of you who dont know me, *I am Naomi and I am a workaholic* lol, well no, but I do have 2 jobs. By day I am a nursery nurse and early years worker and I have to say I absolutely LOVE my job! I work for an education supply agency at the moment where I have been placed temping in a local college nursery. I have been there for a couple of months now and love my days there working with their toddlers. They are so much fun and make everyday different. A lively little bunch who forever keep me on my toes and I adore them all! I will be a very sad girly when the time comes when they no longer need me *sigh*.

By night and weekends I work in a theatre, which is also so much fun. I work front of house at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, we have some great shows and its such a priveledge being able to see so much theatre on a regular basis. Fast approaching us is panto season, *ohhhhhhh yes it is!* we have the fabulous Christopher Biggins as our lead this year and I am absolutely bursting to meet him! I hope he is as nice in real life as he is on T.V, otherwise my world is gonna be so sad! I also heard on the grapevine a few days ago that we have a massive star coming to do a show with us in February! Matthew Lewis who plays the character of Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter movies will be with us in our yearly Agatha Christie fix, this year its a play called 'Verdict'. I have to say every year that they come I absolutely LOVE the Agatha Christie shows which we get but this time I am even more excited to see it arrive! Roll on Feb!!!

But yeh, with all of this, life as Naomi is pretty busy, I do 8 hour days at nursery then most nights and weekends I go straight to work at the theatre. I cant complain though, it keeps me and my shopping addiction very, very happy for the moment! I have purchased so much stuff just recently! I am currently on the hunt for my awesome Big Girls Paradise outfit for their Xmas event on December 11th! I think I may have stumbled upon an awesome dress from eBay, heres a pic...
I am awaiting its arrival then I shall get some pics up! What do you think?

I really cant wait to do another OOTD but Ive literally lived in my uniform over the past few weeks! Ive had so much new stuff of recent and it just hasnt seen the light of day! Also I have a week off on the 6th December where I am hoping to get round to having a massive clear out and eBay sale! Keep an eye out!

Ohhhhh a quick favour, do any of you lovely ladies have any recommendations for a good lash glue?!?! I usually use the ones which come with the lashes but they arent very good the majority of the time! Help?

Until next time guys...Big Love <3>

Just a quick post this evening, I want this outfit so hard...

Dress - ASOS Curve £38

Shoes - ASOS £45

...and the shoes are just so awesome, but maybe a little to high for moi! Id still give them a try though!

I have unfortunately spent so much money this week though so purchases of said items will be on hold for the mean time! I have finally picked up a biker jacket from Evans, which I am waiting on delivery on and also a black tulip cut skirt and an embellished shoulder t-shirt from Yours Clothing which should be with me by Monday fingers crossed! So as soon as I get them I will post some pics and maybe a cheeky OOTD? Until then, I shall be dreaming of tottering about in those amazing peeptoes, clad in awesome dress, amazing clutch in one hand and an enormous cocktail in the other....*bliss*

DIVA Magazine article from Big Bum Jumble!

Evening all...

Just a quick post really. I attended the very awesome Big Bum Jumble in August as a seller and as a hardcore shopper and found some AMAZING bargains and it was a fab fab fab day! I got the awesome peeptoes that I am holding in the pic for like £3, a Ralph Lauren tank jumper for £1, a Kathy Van Zeeland handbag for £1 and lots of other goodies! I also sold lots of my own stuff and made around 80 quid, (Which I later spent most of drinking ridiculous amounts of Jaegermister in Camden @ the Purple Turtle) Ugh!

It wasnt until this evening that I finally came across an article that I remember being put together at the event by a journalist from DIVA magazine, it finally got sourced out by a friend of mine and posted on Facebook so I thought I would share it with you guys here! Jus' for the record they totally misquoted me, ahhhhhhhh to be a star aye? *LOL* what I actually said was 'I wish they did better fitting tights in plus sizes as I find well fitting hosiery difficult to get hold of in the UK'. Phew, cleared that up! Some of the other very gorgeous girlies in the pic are friends of mine whom I did a stall with, the gorge red head Lorna and also beautiful Sherrilyn! Awesome day had by all! Cant wait for another one!

My very first OOTD (Or more like Outfits of my London weekend)

Well hello there! (I am indeed hoping there is someone, at least a someone out there listening to me?!) hehe!

This is my very first outfit of the day post! I am rather excited, but rather nervous about this! Its actually a double outfit post as I have spent the weekend in good old London having my monthly dose of fat girl fun at BGP (Big Girls Paradise) to those of you who dont know of it, check out the website link! Im sure as we get to know each other you will hear much more about my monthly shenanigans at that place! Its always a great place to go to as a plus sized girl to get glammed up and really forget any inhibitions and worries about what others may think (Yeh I know, we shouldnt have to anyway but ho hum, unfortunately we do get a bit worried at times with all those judgemental stares about!). So anyway, I headed off with the girls from Wolverhampton and arrived in London for mid afternoon, we dumped our stuff and had a stroll and a late lunch in Covent Garden, which was lovely, I spotted an amazing pair of cute peep toe flatties in Kurt Geiger, but unfortunately they are a little outta my price range at the mo! After that we headed back to our hotel over at City Road and got ready for our night!

Earlier in the week I received my order from Evans which I had made a few days before taking advantage of their 30% off offer which made me treat myself to a new pair of boots! I have been after a pair of worker/biker boots for a while but couldn't find any I liked until I spotted these beauties in Evans...

They are fab, so comfortable and have plenty of room in the calf as that is where I struggle most with boots. I am a big girl, but I wouldnt say I have the largest of legs, but unfortunately even Evan's boots I struggle to get into with 19inch calves :( *sigh* so I am always ecstatic when I get hold of a pair which fit me! YAY! I am also totally loving the girly floral look with the hard edge at the moment, I know it has crossed over from the summer and Im a bit behind but its so nice being able to wear all those pretty summer dresses and tunics in the winter still! So this is my Saturday, strolling around London outfit...

Boots £45-Evans

Floral Tunic - Evans (Summer 2010)

Leggings - Evans (Summer 2010)

Cardigan - New Look Inspire (Summer 2010)

In the evening I opted for a simpler outfit compared to how glammed up and out there I usually go for BGP. I had been having 'One of those days' the day before, where absolutely everything I put on I just felt terrible in(Yeh, you know it well girls, Im sure). I had originally purchased a Beth Ditto 2009 stained glass dress from eBay to wear, but well, like I said, it just didnt feel right at the time, but I am definitely going to wear it soon when I can figure out what I feel like putting it with!

Anyway, in the end I went for an old faithful Yours Clothing polka dot tunic which I had purchased really early this year (I think?) I usually always wear it really casually just to uni or seeing friends etc, but its my super comfy outfit and I thought Id try glamming it up for a night out. I teamed it with a red cardigan from Primark (Its a size 18 and I am usually a size 28, so go figure! TRY THINGS ON LADIES WHETHER IN YOUR SIZE OR NOT!), leggings and some super cute heels which I bought about a month ago for my birthday night out, from New Look! Whacked on some pearls and VOILA, a very 50's pinup style outfit which I ended up loving! What do you reckon?! All teamed with red lips and a smile and a girls good to go!

Frock me!

So, although the weather is getting colder and I should really be thinking how best to keep wrapped up warm and toastie (especially at the moment as I am full of a horrid horrid cold) my attention is always distracted by all the pretty party wear which is beginning to come out of the wood work ready for the Christmas party season.

Until about 2 years ago, I never owned a dress and wearing one would never have crossed my mind whatsoever, but something happened and now I am a dress whore! I just cant help myself, they are my guilty pleasure and my wardrobe is now absolutely bursting with them! Thrown on with a pair of leggings and ankle boots for a casual look or done up to the nines with strings and strings of pearls and heels which are undoubtedly going to kill me for weeks after I have worn them, for a night out!

So after having the latest
Evans catalogue drop into my email inbox this morn I thought Id have a little round up of my fave fancy frocks for the up and coming party season!

Images all borrowed from Evans, Very, ASOS and Yours. Thank you!

Hello Blog-o-sphere!

Come one, come all and marvel at this here miracle! I finally plucked up the courage to actually start blogging instead of just talking about doing so! So this, my little sugar plums, is my very first blog post! *Cue 'ohhhh' and 'ahhhhh'ing noises from anticipatory crowd*

Now now, lets not get overly excited just yet as it could all go terribly wrong but before that happens let me introduce myself! I, Miss Naomi, am a 26 year old fat chick from the West Midlands and I am passionate about all things plus size! I have been noseying around the Fatshion community for around a year now, and although I maybe a little late to the parade of fabulously fierce fatshionista's I am hoping my little contribution wont go a miss! Being on the larger end of the plus size scale being anything betwen a size 24-30 dependent on where I shop (how many of us have that problem ladies? Aye!) and 5ft 4in, choices are even more limited, I have found so much inspiration from other plus size bloggers and hope that I can bring a little bit more input to all the other voluptuous beauties out there!

Over the past year I have been massively impressed with the progression of plus size fashion and more so the impact independent fatshion bloggers have made upon an industry which used to pale in comparison to what it is at the moment. My own personal highlight so far has been the arrival of the incredibly fresh and bang on trend
ASOS Curve range, a range which I feel could not have happened and been so successful from the start without the input of passionate plus sizers whom were crying out for key trends to be made available to them. ASOS did amazingly well I feel in creating the Curve range and put many other plus size retailers to shame by offering mainstream looks at affordable prices, is that not what us curvy counterparts wanted all along? Why yes it is! That being said, I feel that there is definitely still room for improvement within the industry and am looking forward to watching the twists and turns, and now blogging about them along the way!

Anyway, I am gonna wrap this up, but I assure you that now I have finally broken the ice with you all I wont go away (unless you really really want me to?). Please say ello, follow me on my Twitter, send me a postcard or messenger pigeon or whichever way you crazy kids communicate these days and I will welcome the knowledge that there are indeed peoples out there interested in my ramblings!

*Phew, done!*
